I'm sorry I've been a little MIA. Moving does that! I did manage to make two more Heather Ross centered blocks for this QAL! These aren't my favorites, but I was more limited on fabric choices here because of the colors:
Now it's time for June's My Precious link up party and giveaways! For those of you who are new here or don't know what I'm talking about, check out my original post HERE.
I'll repeat, the fabric does not have to be precious to anyone but you, however, I would like to stress that I don't want you entering just any old project for the sake of the giveaway. This quilt-a-long is supposed to be about using the fabric you've been hoarding/reluctant to cut.

This month's 4 prizes include:
1. A copy of Tula Pink's new book, Quilts from the House of Tula Pink: 20 Fabric Projects to Make, Use and Love, donated by Miss Tula herself! She is so super sweet and generous! Thanks Tula! If you guys haven't seen this book yet, it's fabulous! So bright and colorful and there are tons of great tips and discussion on why certain quilting techniques are used--this is something I haven't seen in other books. It really makes someone like me, who free motion quilts most everything, really think about the best way to highlight the design of my quilt! Anywho, I'm babbling because I just love this book!
2. A charm pack of Alexander Henry prints (with some hard to find and out of print ones!) from my friend Jenny at Cut.Iron.Sew.Repeat Check out the beautiful quilt she made with some of her AH fabrics!
3. Katie Jump Rope fabric from the hilarious and talented Kaelin at The Plaid Scottie (picture coming soon!)
4. A flat rate envelope stuffed with scraps and goodies from me! While I love my scraps, my cup runneth over right now! I have zero room! I promise to include some hard to find stuff---Mendocino, Munki Munki, and whatever else I can fit in the envelope! I'll try and include some of the winner's favorite fabrics (assuming I have them!)
So what do you have to do to win? Just use the link up tool below to post a picture of something you've made with your precious fabric!
The giveaway will be open until June 19th at 11pm Central time. Winners will be chosen by the random number generator and announced by June 20th. I hope you all had fun and don't forget, there are more prizes to come all summer long so get ready to cut into more of your precious!
Remember:
- The project must be complete unless it's a quilt. You may post quilt blocks or partial quilt top.
- Only ONE entry per person!
- Please do not post more than one picture!
Kelly I actually like those 2 log cabin blocks and I bet when you put them besides the other colour blocks they will fit right in. Have you posted a pic on Flickr of the blocks together so far?...I would love to see that. Lovely prizes again on offer.
ReplyDeleteI really really appreciate that you started this QAL. Finally I dig in my precious fabrics and I can't stop! (the next quilt is already started).
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are sweet - they have a lot to live up to!!
ReplyDeleteI especially like that second block. Thanks for organizing this Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHopefully my post will go up this afternoon. I want to thank you for organizing this QAL. I'm relatively new to the quilt alongs, but this has been fun..and made me cut my Dick and Jane which I have been hoarding for years now.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I want the envelope of scraps! Don't you love surprises like that?
I'm excited I actually had something to enter this month! I've been hoarding these Botanica prints for months! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of inspiration in this link up - and such wonderful fabrics :) Feels good to finally decide on a project for them!
ReplyDeleteSince mine appears to not like me at all, here is the website for the photo--I personally think it's because I had to pull the photo from Flickr since I have no blog. :( (maybe this is incentive...)

It appears that I haven't made much progress, but I've moved 400 miles across the state and my machine is still in the garage while unpacking the essentials!
